The Drug Prevention & Information Programme

The European Commission has announced that the first call for proposals under the Drug Prevention and Information Programme will be made in December 2007. The aim of the programme is to support projects that significantly reduce the social harm and health damage caused by the use of, and trade in, illicit drugs. The programme has a budget of £21.35 million for the period 2007-2013 and £ 3 million will be available for 2007 to provide financial support to projects that prevent and reduce drug use, dependence and drug related harms; contributes to the improvement of information on the effects of drug use; and to support the implementation of the EU Drugs Strategy.
