The Gannett Foundation, which is the charitable arm of Gannett Co Inc. owner of the Newsquest Media Group, one of the UK''s largest publishers, is inviting applications to supports projects which take a creative approach to education and neighbourhood improvements, economic development, youth development, community problem solving, assistance to disadvantaged people, environmental conservation and cultural enrichment. The funding is available to local organisations in the area where Newsquest operates in the UK. The Quartet Community Foundation, on behalf of the Gannett Foundation and Newsquest, manages the Fund. The grants available range from £1,000 - £5,000 (more may be available for exceptional projects).

The closing date for applications is the 20th March 2008.
