Address Tips

For this simple workshop all you'll need is access to a computer with Internet access and Microsoft Internet Explorer

Difficulty Level: 1

Every web page on the Internet has its own unique address called a URL (pronounced U-R-L). To access a web page, you can enter the URL into the address bar of your browser.

Step 1:

If you're using the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser, you've probably noticed that the browser stores all the URLs you have typed into the address bar recently.

To see a list of these addresses, press F4 on your keyboard. If you see the site you are looking for, click on it with your mouse and it will open.

A bit more advanced:

To move around quickly in the address bar you can press Ctrl and the arrow keys to skip back and forward through the sections of the address.

Step 2:

If you want to enter a new address, click inside the address bar once. This highlights the current address. Pressing the delete button clears the address so that you can enter a new URL.

When you have entered your new address, press the Enter button keyboard, and the new web page should appear.
