A stinning Adam Black hat trick, strikes from Gerry Hughes and Jamie Elliot and an inspired performance from John Sharkey gave Blochairn an excellent 3 points against a Tynecastle team who gave as good as they got and had been the better team for the first 30 minutes.
Tynecastle had created a couple of good chances, before Adam Black dived to convert a Mark Mc Donnell centre, but Sharkey was inspirational form. A couple on minutes after Adams first goal James Jordan must have thought that he had levelled only for the Blochairn number one to produce a truly world class stop Four touches later Blochairn were two up as the counter attack culminated in a superb Jamie Elliot strike.
Adam got his second after half an hour with another back post header and Gerry Hughes will not miss an easier chance with a couple of minutes of the half remaing.
3-0 at half time was no reflection of the first 45 minutes as Tynecastle probably shaded it, Although the second half performance by Blochairn was truly the stuff of champions as our ball retention and movement was a joy to watch.
Adam completed his hat trick of headers after 50 minutes and Gerry completed the scoring for Blochairn after good work on the right hand side. We then had the luxury of resting top strikers Gerry and Adam.
Tynecastles hard work was rewarded by a double for their second half substitute and could have had more but Sharkey was excellent throughout. What a difference a week makes after the goalie had a bit of a shoker against Riverside seven days earlier.
One game left for the SSML champions and we travel to Castlemilk to take on Windlaw in a game that could see us clinch the title dependant on other results although we can be sure that Windlaw will not wanting anyone winning the championship on their turf.
Next up for Blochairn is the trip to Magaluf and 10 of the squad head to Spain on Wednesday for Mc Geachys stag do. .....:)
