Main aims

To Regenerate Ruchill Park.

Before the Friends Group started in 2003/4 nothing much had changed in Ruchill Park in the past 100 Years Since the inception of the friends group, we now have Suds Ponds, The Sculpture & A New Flag designed by Schools surrounding Ruchill Park, brought in through The Glasgow Trust Project in Ruchill Park & Glasgow City Council in partnership with European Union.

We have a brand new Play area that opened on 20th April 2008, and a new multi purpose games court due to be complete by the end of July 2009.
We are also looking to have a running track around the perimeter of Ruchill Park and a new Children’s area within the walled garden with other extensive work being carried by Glasgow City Council.

As Chairperson for The Friends of Ruchill Park I would say the Park looks and feels a better place than it was in 2003.

Opening hours:

Ruchill Park in Summer time is open from 8am - 8pm.
Winter time from 8.30am - 4.30pm.

Ruchill Park is quite hilly with great views of the whole of the City of Glasgow from the Flagpole
