Provide advice to local people on careers, education, and training options and may be able to assist with any back to work costs that you may have. They will give you assistance with the job application process; preparing a CV, interview skills, completing application forms and information on vocational training opportunities and accessing local jobs.

The youth team at Glasgow North Regeneration Agency is here to provide you with your first steps into the world of work, training and further education. Services include; Youth Employment Advisers, Get Ready for Work programmes, Financial support, modern apprenticeships and Retail Academy.

Retail Academy

The course offers the opportunity for young people between the ages of 16 -18 years old to gain access to skills and practical work experience to help them gain a career in the retail sector. The programme offers support with employability and career planning and creates the opportunity for progression into life long learning once in employment.

 Aims of the course:

• Customer service skills
• Communication and Interaction skills
• Selling skills
• Commercial awareness and product knowledge
• Team work skills and personal development
• Hard target training (delivered by Strathclyde police)
• Personal presentation and behaviour at work

A number of vocational training courses including; Modern apprenticeship programme, Care course, Construction, Retail and Administration. Training available may change from time to time so please contact us for further information on what is available to you.
