 Clean Sweep for Spire View

Neighbourhood Management is about local people and organisations listening to each other’s views on what’s needed in each neighbourhood. They then work together to:

·        agree priorities

·        set targets

·        take action to achieve the targets

·        review and monitor progress

The core services covered by Neighbourhood Management arrangements are generally regarded as:

·        security (control of nuisance and general supervision);

·        environment (maintenance and repair of damage to public areas); and

·        cleansing (street cleaning, refuse collection and rubbish removal)

Sergeant Gwen McEwan from Community Planning at Baird Street Police Station, explains, “We are aiming to reassure the public that their local community and environment is not only safe and secure, but also a nice place to live and initiatives like the Clean Up day go along way to achieving this...Alongside the constant problem of litter, we will continue to tackle other issues such as graffiti and vandalism and target those directly responsible.”
