 These pieces are typical of the work that the participants produce. Boomerang recycle old discarded pieces of timber which are then fashioned into well made pieces of furniture. Boomerang is a project based in Maryhill, providing meaningful and interesting work for people suffering or recovering from mental health problem. No previous skills in woodwork is required as full training is given.
Tapestry completed by Carers Care Group. Group were reminiscing about Springburn and everyone remembered Anderson and Ireland the Chemist, so they decided to make this.
Some of the carers originally involved in this group have moved on to become volunteers, who offer a drop-in support in Springburn Health Centre every Wednesday between 10 am - 12.30 pm. They also come along to a support group every Thursday in Elmvale Day Centre 10 am - 12.30 pm.
 Tapestry completed by Carers Care Group. This is an adult carers group and again they were displaying various emotions felt by the group - laughter; stress; anger; friendship etc.
Flourish House was established in 1997 and promotes recovery from mental ill health through unique partnership developed using the Clubhouse Model. These genuine partnerships are formed when individuals who attend Flourish House, identified as members, play a crucial role in its overall operation and management.
Helping people with mental illness to achieve their potential and be respected as co-workers, neighbours and friends.


This display was provided by Flourish House and its made up of recycled materials and dried flowers. We can only appreciate the time and effort the artist has put in as the detail is immense and it is obviously based on a halloween theme.

This other piece of art work was completed by a Parent Carers Group knows as PINS. A support group which meets once a week in Possilpark. They were drawing various emotions they felt they are up against the picture is quite powerful.
A piece of art work submitted by Thomas De Bono. Thomas has developed his art skills through the coach house trust, Thomas has submitted 3 pieces of art work in the past year at other exhibitions throughout the city.
Work by the Art Group at Springpark Community Mental Health Team. The Wednesday Art Group is facilitated by the Occupational Therapy Service and aims to support members in developing their personal, social, creative and artistic skills within a group setting.

This is a selection of the art on display on the day. The art exhibition was a great success. Thanks to all the artists and their supporitng agencies who submitted their work and to the Open Museum at Springburn Leisure Centre for all their help and assistance. Look out for another successful exhibition in 2009.
