Springburn Fire Station

On the south corner of Keppochhill Road and Springburn Road, stands what once was Springburn Fire Station. Now converted into private flats, the station was originally opened in 1893 costing £4000, it included married quarters for 10 men. However, the building was designed to cope with horse drawn pump wagons, and so as time went on, it was necessary to build a new facility that could cope with more modern engines. The new fire station is located further south, in Midton Street, off Petershill Road.
